• Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling halls that reside just across the border from nearby Thailand, in which casino betting is banned. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime spot, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, financing sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are apparently necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga river boat is open all day and night with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of vingt-et-un, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive vacation and hotel complex that highlights a number of luxuries in addition to the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
