• Cambodia Gambling Halls

    [ English ]

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den betting is not permitted. Eight casinos are anchored in a relatively small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime destination, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mostly Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and despite the fact visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of many borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge casino, contains 150 one armed bandits and 60 tables. The Naga river boat never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slot machines and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international vacation and hotel complex that highlights numerous luxuries on top of the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 tables.
